Yates George Cathrail, Jr.

Yates George Cathrall, Jr., 67, of Georgetown, Georgia, died Thursday, January 11, 2024, at his home.

            Visitation will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 2 P.M. until 4 P.M., EST, at the Cathrall home at 110 Sunny View Farms Road in Georgetown.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, the Lakeside School or your favorite charity.

            Born October 6, 1956 in Fort Gaines, Georgia, George was the son of the late Yates George and Eugenia Louise Shaw Cathrall, Sr.  George was a cherished friend to countless people and if you were his friend, you were his friend for life.  He was a passionate farmer in Georgia for most of his life and was committed to the conservation of the land. 

            Survivors include his wife of 44 years: Terri Wilder Cathrall; his son: Yates George (Lindsey) Cathrall, III; 4 grandchildren: Yates George “Chip” Cathrall, IV, Chelsea Virginia Cathrall (Hunter), Paisleigh Harlow Stanford-Cathrall, Kindon Eugenia Cathrall; 3 sisters: Jeanie Cathrall (Joseph) Chambers, Ann Cathrall (George) Durot, Susan Cathrall (Nick) Diez.  George was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

            `Chapman Funeral Home in Eufaula is in charge of arrangements.
