William Clyde Sanders Jr, 93, acquired his wings on Monday, September 2, 2024 surrounded by love and family. He was a resident of Eufaula, Alabama for over 50 years where he was a member of First Baptist Church. He was born on Friday, May 29, 1931 in Cochran, Georgia to the late William Clyde and Corrie Sanders. After graduating from Lanier High School in Macon, Georgia, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served our country from 1951-1955 as a F94 jet mechanic supporting the 318-fighter squadron. He was stationed in Tacoma, Washington and Thule, Greenland before retiring with the rank of staff sergeant. He worked at the Smurfit WestRock paper mill and Hughes Missile Electronics in Eufaula, Alabama. Clyde enjoyed fishing and gardening in his spare time. He also spent many hours working on anything mechanical, determined to fix things whether they were broken or not. He was a strong and loving father that ensured his family needs were always priority. There was no doubt about his love for his entire family. He will be greatly missed, but his memories will always be cherished by those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Frances (Moore) Sanders. He is survived by a sister and brother, 2 sons, 2 granddaughters, 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 2:30 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. The Memorial Service will start at 3 P.M.in the Chapman Funeral Home Chapel.
