In Loving Memory of William “Bill” Hatfield
February 2, 1962 – August 19, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of William “Bill” Hatfield — a devoted father, proud grandfather, and cherished friend — who left this world on August 19, 2025, at the age of 63.
Born and raised in Williamson, West Virginia, Bill carried with him the values of hard work, loyalty, and kindness throughout his life. In his youth, he worked as a lifeguard — a role that reflected his love of swimming. He later spent many years working on oil rigs and at a water plant. His hands were calloused from labor, but his heart was always soft.
Bill enjoyed life’s simple pleasures: watching NASCAR races, laughing along to episodes of MASH*, spending time at the beach, and cooking. Some of his happiest moments were in the kitchen making pizzas with his daughter — a tradition that became a cherished memory.
Bill also had a special place in his heart for his dog, ChiChi. The two were inseparable, and the companionship and unconditional love they shared brought him comfort and joy each day.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Jordan Garcia; his grandson, Luca Garcia, who was his pride and joy; his wife of 30 years, Sharon Hatfield; his brother, Joseph Hatfield; his sister, Elizabeth Gresak; and his loving neighbor, Ms. Foreman. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Bill will be remembered for his big heart, his laughter, and the way he made everyone feel welcome. He never met a stranger.
