Wayne Gilmore

Wayne Gilmore, 81, of Eufaula, Alabama, died Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Crowne Health Care in Eufaula.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 8, 2026, at 2 P.M., at Sardis Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Daron Shuler and Rev. Joey McCreight officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sardis Church Cemetery with Chapman Funeral Home directing.  The visitation will be held prior to the service from1 P.M. until 2 P.M., at the church.

Born August 20, 1944 in Eufaula, Alabama, Wayne was the son of the late Robert Wilson and Florence Hicks Gilmore.  Wayne was a member of Sardis Freewill Baptist Church.  He retired from Alabama Power Company after over 40 years of service.  He was an avid softball player, coach and umpire.  Wayne was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Jennifer Gilmore, his grandsons Dresden and Bram Gilmore and his brother James R. "Buck" Gilmore.

Survivors include his son: Dack (Tracy) Gilmore; grandchildren Camron (Elora) Tucker, Cody (Katlyn) Tucker; 3 great grandchildren: Dresden Tucker, Kayden Tucker and Maverick Tucker; 2 sisters: Sybil Bridges and Janice Gilmore: his very special friend: Rachel Pearson..

Pallbearers will be Terry Bridges, Gavyn Bridges, Trent Bridges, Austin Bridges, Chris Trammell and Cody Tucker.
