Thomas Joe Hudson

                Thomas Joe Hudson, 77, of Clayton, Alabama, died Sunday, January 19, 2025, at his residence.

            Memorial graveside services will be held Friday, January 24, 2025, at 11 A.M., in the Clayton Cemetery with Rev. Russell Hagler officiating and Chapman Funeral Home directing.

            Born May 24, 1947, Thomas was the son of the late Madison McCoy and Alice Rose Stovall Hudson.  Thomas was a member of the Clayton High School Class of 1965.  He was a veteran of both the United States Navy and the Alabama National Guard.  His career was spent with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service as a Federal Game Warden.  He enjoyed fishing, classic cars and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He was married to the late Alice Ruth Benefield Hudson for 47 years.  During their marriage, their family lived and traveled all over the country.  Their travels took them to Florida, Colorado and Mississippi, but they returned home to Barbour County in the early 90’s.

            Survivors include his son: Jason (Maria) Hudson; his daughter: Jenny (Clay) Strickland; 5 grandchildren: Trent Hudson, Gabbie Hudson, Maddie Hudson, Emory Strickland and Scarlett Strickland.
