Sammy Lee Holmes

Mr. Sammy Lee Holmes, 81, of Eufaula, Alabama, died Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Medical Center Barbour in Eufaula, Alabama.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 2 P.M., at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Hill officiating and Chapman Funeral Home directing.  The visitation will be held Tuesday, prior to the service from 1 P.M. until 2 P.M. at the funeral home.

Born August 13, 1943 in Eufaula, Alabama, Mr. Holmes was the son of the late Wyatt A. and Jessie Lee Houston Holmes.  Mr. Holmes was a member of the United States Army National Guard.  He was an insurance agent with Independent Life.  He spent many years with Petry Wholesale Grocery as a sales representative before retiring in 2006.  His hobbies were antique cars, oil painting, knife making and various other arts and crafts.  Mr. Holmes was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Ann Richards.

Survivors include his wife: Bobby Holmes; his sons: Chris (Jade) Holmes, Greg (Kim) Holmes, Ashley (Jessica) Holmes and Tim Richards; 8 grandchildren: Haley Holmes, Leighann Holmes, Holly Holmes, Morgan Parmer, Jesse Holmes, Dusty (Megan) Richards, Blake (Tara) Richards, and Madeline Holmes; 9 great grandchildren: Macee Sheppard, Josh Sheppard, Gage Sheppard, Oaklynn Hayward, Braxton Wilbourne, Chloe Wilbourne, Tate Parmer, Bodhi Hayward and Reese Richards.
