Ralph George “Buddy” Morris, 81, of Georgetown, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, March 30, 2025, and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, while surrounded by his loving family.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 11 A.M., CDT, at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Hines, Brother Jimmy Symons and Chief Chris Blackmon of the Florida Highway Patrol officiating and Chapman Funeral Home directing. Please keep Pastor Bill Sanders in your prayers, he will not be able to attend the service. The visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. at the funeral home.
Ralph was born December 5, 1943 in Crescent City, Florida to the late Ralph H. and Helena Edith Norton Morris. He was born in Crescent City but raised in Cocoa, Florida where he met and married his wife of 53 years, Linda Love Morris. As a young adult, after graduating from High School, Ralph enlisted in the United States Marine Corps to serve his country, where he spent most of his time with the 6th Marines on the USS Saratoga (CVA-60) during the Viet Nam War. After his service, Ralph moved to Williston, Florida where he and his wife raised their 3 children and where he was employed by Container Corporation of America (CCA)/Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation. During his employment, he was relocated to Georgetown, Georgia where he worked for the company for 33 years until he retired. He was a member and attended New Harvest Worship Center in Ft. Gaines, Georgia. In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his wife Linda Love Morris and his sister Helena Winifred Morris Haskins.
Ralph is survived by his children: Sonya (Leonard) Worthy of Georgetown, Georgia, Christie (Russ) Hamm of Greensburg, Kentucky, Ty (Theresa) Morris of Dunnellon, Florida; his “adopted” daughter: Alicia Hayes of Childersburg, Alabama; 1 brother: Johnnie Floyd (Frances) Morris of Geneva, Florida; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
