Peggy Joyce Whatley, 92, of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Eufaula, Alabama, landed safely in the arms of Jesus on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 12 Noon, in the Chapman Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ken Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Chapman Funeral Home directing. The visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
Peggy was born February 6, 1934 in Baker Hill, Alabama, to the late Fred and Oleta Leroy. She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Whatley, her brother William Ed Leroy and many cherished aunts and uncles. Peggy was known for her southern cooking and her joyous laughter that could be heard throughout the house. Family gatherings were never boring with Peggy there. She told many stories that left you laughing for days. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and each one held a special place in her heart. She was affectionately known as "G G Mama".
Peggy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Neva and John Menard; her brother and sister-in-law Danny and Pattie Thompson-Leroy; her grandchildren Shaun and Heather Menard,
kristal and Matt Magers; her great grandchildren Cayman Menard, Lilah Menard, Seraphina Menard, Holden Magers, and Hadley Magers all of Louisville, Kentucky; niece, nephews and many cherished cousins and friends.
