Mary Alice (Thompson) Amerson

Mary Alice Amerson, 73, of Fort Gaines, Georgia, passed away Friday, April 25, 2025, at Fort Gaines Health and Rehab with her family by her side.

            Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 2 P.M., at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Floyd officiating.  Burial will follow in the Georgetown Cemetery with Chapman Funeral Home directing.  The visitation will be held Monday, April 28, 2025, From 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

            Born June 12, 1951 in Ramer, Alabama, Mrs. Amerson was preceded in death by her husband: Gaylon Amerson; her children’s father: Joe Brooks; her mother: Louise Tetter; her sister: Margret Tetter and her brother: Ricky Tetter.

            Survivors include her daughters: Donna (David) Haywood and Melissa (Jeremy) Nelson; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends; her very special friends: Sandra Thomas, Juanita McElroy, Rosie Graves and Becky Anderson.

            Serving as pallbearers will be David Haywood, Jeremy Nelson, Eddie Haywood, Aurora Thomas, Chris Franklin and Jeffery Nolin.
