Marilyn Joan “Mert” Sewell, 72, of Eufaula, Alabama, died Thursday, April 16, 2026, at her residence.
A private graveside service was held Monday, April 20, 2026, at 10 A.M., CDT, in the Georgetown Cemetery with Father David Shoemaker officiating and Chapman Funeral Home directing.
Born July 26, 1953, in Georgetown, Georgia, Mert was the daughter of the late Tommie Wade and Betty A. Moore. She retired from Midsouth Bank. She was preceded in death by her brothers Tommie Moore, Jr., David Moore and John “Billy” Moore.
Survivors include her husband: Ronney Sewell; 2 sons: R.J. (Emily) Sewell and Ben (Pharbia) Sewell; 6 grandchildren: Korben Stroud, Thomas Sewell, Kam Sewell, Iris Sewell, Philippa Sewell, Colin Sewell; 6 sisters: Jean Enfinger, Rebecca Anderson, Rosemary Bennett, Luellen Baker, Cathy Morris and Betty (Ted) Smith.
