Mr. Kenneth Hays, 79, of Georgetown, Georgia, died Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Crowne Health Care in Eufaula, Alabama.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 11:30 A.M., CDT, at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with military honors. Rev. Chris Wilkinson will officiate with Chapman Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Born July 23, 1945 in Pike County, Alabama, Mr. Hays was the son of the late Wyman and Marie Leatherwood Hays. Mr. Hays retired from the Alabama Army National Guard after 30 years of service, having served in Operation Desert Storm with the 1103rd Transportation Company. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years: Betty Hays; 1 son: Ashley (Kristy) Hays; 1 daughter: Pam Casey; 5 grandchildren: Bo (Chesley) Casey, Ian Hays, Nolan Hays, Mac Hays and Jack Hays; 3 great grandchildren: Carson Casey, Bryce Casey and Ashton Casey; 2 sisters: Alice (John) Davis and Mary (Bobby) Lewis.
