Kathleen Couric (Couric) Mottley

Kathleen Couric Mottley, 77, of Eufaula, Alabama, died Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Medical Center Barbour in Eufaula.

Services will be held Sunday, August 4, 2024, from 4 P.M. until 7 P.M. at her residence.  Chapman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born February 5, 1947 in Eufaula, Alabama, Mrs. Mottley was the daughter of the late William Preston and Kathleen Margaret Pead Couric.  A graduate of Auburn University and passionate about literature and education, Kathy built relationships with former students and colleagues, some for life.  She loved to travel and bring home local arts and crafts from the places she visited.  For all of her life, Kathy was taking care of strays.  She couldn't stand to see an animal hungry, cold or hurt.  She was never more happy than when she was with her friends and will be remembered by many for her sense of humour and love of a crowd of friends gathered for any occasion.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Barbour County Humane Society or your local animal shelter.

Survivors include her son: Frank W. (Brandi) Mottley, IV; her daughter" Kathleen "Kitty" Mottley Albert; 5 grandchildren.
