Joyce Gibbs Harrison, 92, passed away peacefully at home on April 22, 2026, surrounded by her daughters.
She was born on August 15, 1933, in Toombs County, Georgia, to Lalia and Thomps Gibbs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Harrison, Sr.; her sons, Charles W. Harrison, Jr., CH (LTC) Daniel E. Harrison and C. William “Bill” Harrison; her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Harrison (Harry) Lyles; her sister and brother-in-law, Edna Gibbs (Hubert) Fountain; her granddaughter, Misty Fowler McGehee and her grandson, Marty W. Fowler, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter and sons-in-law, Debra Harrison (Sam) LeMaistre and Rhonda Harrison (Marty) Fowler; her daughter-in-law, Jeri Harrison (Dave) Upchurch; her granddaughters, Katie LeMaistre (Will) Moore, Joy Harrison (Rustin) McClure, Christina Lyles (Luke) Sanders, Elizabeth Morgan Lyles and Leslie Marie “Marty” Fowler; her grandsons, Samuel LeMaistre, III, Timothy (Mel) Harrison, Hunter (Natalie) Lyles and Nate (Cammie) Upchurch; twenty-one great grandchildren, with one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial services will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 2 P.M., in the White Chapel Funeral Home Chapel in Montgomery, Alabama, with Rev. David Upchurch officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105. Chapman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
