John Franklin “Frank” Grant, Sr. was born February 15, 1935 to Alfred and Frances Hall Grant in Comer, AL. On May 29, 2024, he went home to be with the LORD. He was married to Martha Peak Grant for 67 years.
Graveside services were held Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 10:30 A.M., at Old Springhill Cemetery with Rev. Joel Miller officiating and Chapman Funeral Home directing.
He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Cathy and Kenny Childree; Carl, Rebecca, Grant, Gabe, Gibson Childree; Mary Frances, Jonathan, Lorelai, Julie Catherine Clark; Meg and Mike Ammons; Chrisi, Zachary, Brody Charpie; Frankie Ammons, Michael Ann Baggett, and Wes Charpie; J. and Beverly Grant; Blair Grant, Madison LeRoy, Easton Marsala; Whitney Grant, Marcel Manago, Braxton, Kaison, Dalton Manago; Kasey and Nick Andrews; Morgan Grant, Alex Drazic; John Grant III. He is survived by his brother, Allison Grant; also, his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Phelps, his brother-in-law and wife, Al and Alenna Peak; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Hunter Grant. He belonged to the Comer Methodist Church and numerous civic organizations. After he graduated from API (Auburn University), he came home to Comer to become a cattle farmer and forester. We owe a special thanks to Robert Thomas, Achaphala Grey, and the Gentiva Staff.
