Jo Yvonne Wood

Mrs. Jo Yvonne Wood, 71, of Eufaula, Alabama, died Sunday, January 7, 2024 at her residence.

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 1 P.M., at Epworth United Methodist Church with Rev. Gerald Caryl-Gordon officiating.  Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Chapman Funeral Home directing.   Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12 Noon until 1 P.M. at the church.

            Born February 3, 1952 in Eufaula, Alabama, Mrs. Wood was the daughter of the late Emmett and Dorothy Dean Clark Scroggins.  Mrs. Wood retired from the Eufaula City Schools as a teacher and coach after 32 years of service.  She enjoyed working in her yard, gardening and baking.   She was known as the “Bread Lady”.

            Survivors include her husband: Jimmy Wood; 1 daughter: Kami Jo (Jason) McKee; 1 son: Dustin Carl (Danielle) Wood; 4 grandchildren: Emma Grace McKee, Micah Carlton McKee, Samantha Elizabeth Wood, Carlie Danielle Wood; 1 brother: Ronnie (Janet) Scroggins.

            Active pallbearers will be Josh Adams, Jared Luke Adams, Ray Perkins, Sam Halstead, Chris Pearson, Murray Dozier and Paul Threatt.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Cox, Buddy Smith, Ron Scroggins, Heath Scroggins and Reagan Scroggins.
