James Ronald Hurst, Sr.

Mr. James Ronald Hurst, Sr., 78, of Clayton, Alabama, died Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Southeast Health Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 15, 2024, at 11 A.M., at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bobby Hagler officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Louisville, Alabama with Chapman Funeral Home directing.  The visitation will be held prior to the service Monday from 10 A.M. until service time.

Born October 7, 1945 in Clayton, Alabama, James was the son of the late Fred and Mildred Parmer Hurst.

Survivors include his wife: Dorothy Hurst; 5 sons: J.R. (Brandi) Hurst Jr., Jeff (Heather) Hurst, Tim Hurst, Tony Hurst and Chris Hurst; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 1 sister: Laura Jean (Ralph) Thomas.

Active pallbearers will be Jordan Hurst, Dwan Kirkland, Harley Allday, Kenneth Smith, Jason Benefield, Bruce Benefield and Steve Benefield.
