Emma Jean (Lunsford) Dunn

Emma Jean Lunsford Dunn, affectionately known as Mama Jean, graced the world with her presence on August 18, 1941, in Eufaula, Alabama, and peacefully departed on June 19, 2025, at the age of 83. A lifelong resident of Eufaula, Mama Jean was a beacon of love and warmth, known for her unyielding devotion to her family and friends.

Mama Jean's greatest joy and accomplishment was being a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She had a heart that knew no bounds and a generosity of spirit that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her home was always open, her kitchen filled with the aromas of home-cooked meals, and her heart with stories and laughter. Whether it was a shoulder to lean on or an ear to listen, Mama Jean was there, offering her wisdom and unconditional love.

She is survived by her cherished children: Todd (Patty) Register, Clay Register, Jada Register, Derek Register, Jeff Dunn, Joe Dunn, and John Dunn, daughters-in-love: Amy Price Hamm, Donna Gates and Paula Dunn. She joins her beloved son, Dennis Register, in the hereafter. Mama Jean's legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will continue to carry forward her values of love, kindness, and community.

A private service will be held to honor Mama Jean's life, as her family gathers to celebrate the memories she leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to SaintJudes.org, a cause close to Mama Jean's heart.

Mama Jean loved all, and she was loved by all. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her, a testament to a life well-lived and a love well-shared.
