Clayton Murray Dozier, Jr., 64, of Eufaula, Alabama, passed away on December 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Murray was a devoted husband, stepfather, grandfather, son, brother, and friend whose steady presence and generous spirit touched everyone who knew him. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 1 P.M., at Epworth Church with Rev. Gerald Caryl- Gordon officiating. The burial will follow in the Epworth Cemetery with Chapman Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00–7:00 P.M. at Chapman Funeral Home.
Born and raised with strong values of faith, hard work, and loyalty, Murray spent his career as an Automotive Teacher in Louisville, AL and as a Master Mechanic. His talent, patience, and passion for helping others left a lasting impact on countless students, coworkers, and members of the community. Whether in a classroom, under the hood of a car, or in his church he was known for his skill, integrity, and willingness to help anyone in need.
Murray’s greatest joys in life were his faith, his family, and his friends. He loved nothing more than spending time with those he cherished—moving from one project to the next, sharing stories, lending a hand, or heading out to “wet a hook” while fishing with his buddies. He treasured every moment with his beloved wife, Kathy, who was truly the center of his world. Above all, Murray loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was saved by his grace.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Dozier; stepchildren Nikki Mancill and Shawn Mancill (Christy); grandchildren Siah, August, Adalie, Ethan, Emily, and Cassidy; his mother, Faye Dozier; and his brother, James Dozier (Sue), Niece, Coedy Johnson (Andrew) Great Nieces and Nephew, Rylan, Raelyn, and Rhett. He was preceded in death by his father Clayton Dozier.
Murray’s legacy of kindness, faith, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Pallbearers will be Sam Halstead, Richard Clark, Jeff Bonner, Jim Scarborough, Johnny Spurlock, Dallas Cannon, Rickey Lowery and John Musick.
