Clara West Martin

Clara West Martin, daughter of Arthur C. and Lucile W. Martin, died Monday,  August 12, 2024, in Columbus, Georgia.

Memorial services will be held Friday, August 16, 2024, at 2 P.M., at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. J. Gorman Houston III and Rev. Matt Avera officiating and Chapman Funeral Home directing.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Music Program. 

Born January 6, 1941 in Eufaula, Alabama, she was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Lucile M. Smith and her brother, John W. Martin.  Clara graduated from Huntingdon College in Montgomery with a BS Degree in Elementary Education and she taught school for thirty-three years.  Clara was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church and a devoted member of the Eufaula First United Methodist Choir.

She is survived by her daughter: Lucile M. Parish; her sister and brother-in-law: Martha M. Houston and J. Gorman Houston, Jr.; her brother and sister-in-law: James L. Martin and Charlotte K. Martin; her sister-in-law: Lou F. Martin and numerous nieces and nephews.
