Chase McClendon Obituary

Chase Michael McClendon, 24, of Eufaula, Alabama, died Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at his residence.

            Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 3 P.M., at Cross Baptist Church with Pastor Craig Rivers officiating and Chapman Funeral Home directing.  The visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday from 2 P.M. until 3 P.M. at the church.

            Born November 8, 2000, in Nashville, Tennessee, Chase was the son of William Eugene “Billy” and Sherri Leigh Burdell McClendon.  Chase was a graduate of The Lakeside School which he attended for 7 years.  While there he played Peewee football for 1 year, JV football for 2 years, varsity football for 3 years and tennis for 6 years.  Chase also enjoyed playing soccer, which he started playing when he was 3 years old.  He played Club Soccer in North Carolina and when we moved to Eufaula he played with Eufaula Parks and Recreation for 10 years and always made the All-Star team.  At Lakeside, he was a class officer his sophomore year.  He was a youth leader for 4 years at Eufaula First Assembly of God and was on summer staff for 2 years at the Alabama Assemblies of God camp in Birmingham.  He worked at several businesses here in Eufaula - Eufaula Parks and Recreation, Robert McGowan Surveying Company and Mineral Manufacturing Company.  Chase loved to hang out with his friends and play video games in his spare time.  He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents: Austin and Rebecca Burdell, his Paternal Grandmother: Betty Talton and his Paternal Grandparents: Menza and Louise McClendon.

            Survivors other than his parents are his Paternal Grandfather: Wayne Talton; 4 Aunts: Maryjane McClendon, Wendy Whitlock, Sonya (Ken) Miller, Angela (Victor) Smith; his Uncle: Paul (Jennifer) Talton; 2 Cousins: Victoria Smith and Anthony Smith.
