Brenda Shirley (Ayres) Riley

Brenda Shirley Riley, 83, of Eufaula, Alabama, died Sunday, February 16, 2025, at her residence.

The visitation will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 10 A.M until 12 Noon at the funeral home.  A private graveside will be held later with Chapman Funeral Home directing.

Born December 29, 1941 in Birmingham, Alabama, Mrs. Riley was the daughter of the late James and Lois Ruth Fortner Ayres.  Brenda's life was a testament to the power of kindness, dedication and the deep love she carried for her family, friends and community.  She found her greatest joy in the company of her family and friends, always offering a warm smile, a listening ear and endless support.  Her love for animals was a defining part of her life.  Her home was always filled with the happy sounds of dogs and the gentle purr of cats.  Turning her passion into purpose, she founded a successful dog walking and dog sitting business, becoming a trusted caregiver for countless beloved pets.  Her clients quickly became friends, knowing their furry family members were in the best hands.  Her commitment to helping others extended far beyond her business.  Brenda was a proud volunteer with the Pink Ladies at Medical Center Barbour, where her kindness and empathy brightened many patients' days.  Her dedication to animal welfare also led her to serve with the Southern Souls Animal League.  Brenda's entrepreneurial spirit, compassionate heart and unwavering devotion to family and community leave behind a legacy of love and service.  Brenda's warmth, laughter and selfless spirit will be missed deeply but will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.  Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Davey Jewett Riley, Sr. and her daughter, Tamara Dee Riley.

Survivors include 2 sons: Davey "Buzz" (Efrain) Riley, Jr. and Michael (Kathryn) Riley; 1 brother: Tom Hooks (Tina Patterson); 1 sister: Susan Hooks (Guerry) McDavid; 1 niece: Anna (Cole) Arnold; 3 nephews: Taylor Hooks, Charlie (Kara) McDavid and Will McDavid.
