Bobby Joe Gunter

Bobby Joe Gunter, 86, of Eufaula, Alabama, died Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at his residence.

            Funeral services will be held Friday, February 6, 2026, at 3 P.M., at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kermit Soileau officiating.  A private burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Chapman Funeral Home directing.  The visitation will be held prior to the service from 1 P.M. until 3 P.M. at the funeral home.

            Born December 2, 1940 in Andalusia, Alabama, Mr. Gunter was the son of the late Luther and Tiny Bambaloff Gunter.  Mr. Gunter retired from Mead Coated Board after 37 years.  He served over 20 years as the Barbour County Jail Chaplain and was a member of the Bill Glass Prison Ministries.  He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle A    Survivors include his wife of 63 years: Carol Gunter; his son: Mike (Cindy) Gunter; his daughter: Donna Farmer; 6 grandchildren: Jake (Lauren) Gunter, Amanda Gunter, K.C. (Shelley) Gallimore, Jason Gallimore, Grant (Gina) Farmer, Kaleb Farmer; several great grandchildren; his brother-in-law: Gary (Kaye) Frith; their Vietnamese- American children: Joseph and Mary Le and their wonderful children and grandchildren.

ssociation and he was a member of the Barbour County Ministerial Association.  He loved fishing with his brother-in-law Gary Frith.  Mr. Gunter was an active member of the Georgetown Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his brother Allen Gunter.
