Barbara Hart, of Eufaula, Alabama, passed away on December 7, 2024, at her residence in Eufaula. A private graveside service was held on Monday, December 9, 2024, at the Georgetown Cemetery with Dr. Ken Bush officiating and Chapman Funeral Home of Eufaula directing.
Mrs. Hart was a 1953 Graduate of Americus High School and a 1955 Graduate of Georgia Southwestern College in Americus, Georgia. She attended The University of Georgia and graduated with a B.S. in Education in 1957. In 1978, she went to Auburn University and completed her master’s degree in education with a concentration in media. After completing he education, she taught 3rd grade in Athens, Georgia, for one year. She and her husband moved to Waycross, Georgia, in 1958 where she taught 4th grade for one year and a private kindergarten in Waycross for four years. They moved to Eufaula in 1966 and taught in the Eufaula City School System until retirement in 1994. She attended First Baptist Church where she served in the choir, taught Sunday School, and precept Bible studies. She enjoyed reading, studying the Bible, and horseback riding. She was preceded in death by her husband John Taylor “J.T.” Hart.
She is survived by her sons Taylor (Leigha) Hart and Andy Hart; grandchildren Jake Hart (Lauren) and Chancelee Hart Taylor (Ben); great grandchildren Quinton and Emerson Hart.
